Concrete Collar Installation and Electrical Upgrade

Location: Kingman, Kansas, Burlington, Colorado, Sterling, Colorado

Purpose/Opportunity:

The objective of this project was to enhance the structural integrity and electrical reliability by installing a cast-in-place concrete collar on an existing foundation and adding a new transformer with upgraded grounding.

Methods:

The project involved adding a concrete collar and integrating additional rebar into the existing foundation, followed by formwork and concrete placement. We also upgraded electrical grounding systems and removed/replaced 140 anchor bolts. Core drilling for epoxy and rebar installation was carefully managed, especially on a sloped footing and in harsh weather circumstances.

Results/Benefits:

Despite challenges like precise core drilling and winter weather, the project was completed on time and within budget, ensuring the infrastructure’s long-term stability and operational readiness.
