West, Texas Disaster Assistance

On April 17, 2013, the city of West, Texas, suffered a tragedy when a fertilizer plant exploded, destroying 161 homes and damaging 352 others. Many residents were underinsured and needed assistance rebuilding. Strike’s contribution saved the residents nearly $1 million by volunteering equipment, personnel and time to demolish 60 homes, a nursing home and an assisted-living facility.

Strike gives support for Wide Awake by sending a team of volunteers twice a year to Nicaragua to assist in several humanitarian build projects . Strike's partnership has provided a town in Nicaragua with a food warehouse and surrounding security wall, the construction of a community clinic that will provide medical treatment for the community, and a new home for a family currently living in the nearby dump. Campaign for Change continues to extend its reach to change lives globally.
