Pipeline Construction for Increased Refinery Capacity
The refinery primarily supports Fed Ex’s main operational hub as well as the Memphis and Eastern Arkansas economies, including Little Rock.
The project involved the installation of:
- ~141 miles of 20" pipeline (with 70 miles going through mountainous terrain and 30 of those miles being blasted)
- Mainline block valves
- ~112 bores totaling 17,180'
- 27 HDD totaling 49,765'
As a result of Strike’s work, the refinery now has a more reliable and efficient stream of crude sources barrels that will flow directly from Cushing, OK. This project drastically reduces the client’s source barrel transportation time and costs to the refinery in Memphis, which in turn increases the refinery’s capacity and efficiency. In effect, these savings should be passed on to the regional economies that the refinery supports.
